The Martin D-16R is part of the well-established and innovative solid wood 16-Series, originally conceived and developed as an experiment to deliver better sound at a lower cost by using a special combination of our proprietary bracing systems. The D-16R, with its Hybrid X-bracing has now become a longtime Martin favorite. Other features include a solid Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides and a patented neck mortise. Enhanced visual appointments common on some 16-Series models are usually found on much higher priced guitars.

Sound
Of course it doesn't have the volume or sustain of my HD-35 or D-18, but OH What a sound! It was absolutely the best deal on a Martin. If you see one used ----- GRAB IT!
