I am the original owner of a 1983 HD28 that came with a Martin molded case. After 40 years that case finally gave out. I purchased this case as a replacement. While this case is certainly not identical to my original, it's fairly close. The fit to the guitar is perfect, no movement. I've seen a couple reviews complaining about the lack of storage space, but I don't find it to be any different than my previous case. My picks, strings, tuner, and capo easily fit in the storage compartment, and I can sort of fold my leather strap up to fit underneath the headstock. The only traveling I do with this guitar is in my personal vehicle, so I can't comment on it's fitness for air travel. At this point, I would certainly purchase it again.
