Overview
Modern playability and classic looks--the SC-28E pairs technology with timeless style and tone, combining SC innovation and Standard Series appointments. Its patented features include a Sure Align neck system that helps you play all the way up the neck, while the low-profile velocity satin neck barrel fits comfortably in your hand, and an internal soundboard recurve for added bass response. The gloss SC-28E features a spruce top with resonant East Indian rosewood back and sides, giving you deep bass and rich overtones for that classic Martin sound. It also features an ebony fingerboard and bridge, antique white binding, nickel open gear tuners, LR Baggs Anthem electronics, and is strung with LUXE BY MARTIN Kovar strings. The SC-28E comes with a molded hardshell case.

The Martin SC-28e is marketed as an acoustic guitar with electric guitar like low action. When it arrived the action was 7/64 at 12th fret bass E string- very high for ANY guitar. The SC- 28e should have an action of 4-5/64. I took it to Martin’s main facility in Nazareth, PA for setup or repair. Unbelievably, they did not know how to work on it. There is a set of neck shims you must buy separately. I wanted the low action shim installed. Long story short, I came home with a guitar I wasn’t happy with because I couldn’t get the low action this guitar is marketed as being capable of without buzzing and intonation issues. Very bad experience with Martin technical support. Guitar was returned. zZounds was very helpful getting the guitar returned to them.
