Overview
The remastered X Series is made to play. The acoustic-electric D-X1E features the iconic Dreadnought body shape, available in two eye-catching high-pressure laminate (HPL) patterns--koa or mahogany. The HPL top, back, and sides give you durability and classic Martin style, while playability enhancements include a thinner fingerboard with a gently beveled comfort edge and refined string spacing, and a modernized bridge contour for a smooth and comfortable playing experience. Its signature size is loud and projective with strong bass, lending itself to any genre and experience level. The D-X1E also comes with satin tuners and Martin E-1 electronics, featuring a builtin chromatic tuner and volume, tone, and phase controls, letting you plug in and play at any volume. All X Series models come with a softshell case.

I wasn't sure about buying a guitar without a solid top. But I decided to go with it. Wow, I am glad I did. Was looking for a travel guitar that had great action. I've played country gospel for decades, but have nerve damage in my hands. My fingers don't feel like they should. This thing is smooth. Couldn't be happier.
