"Mapex Falcon...Amazing Pedal!"
Verified Purchaser
zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
I have owned Tama's Iron Cobra, Pearl Eliminator and Axis double pedal in the past. Before I decided to get the Mapex Falcon, I had gone to my local music dealers and spent some time with the pro and intermediate pedals available, I was not impressed. I have often played my friends DW 9000 and another's Pearl Demon Drive as well and thought that they were good but not to my liking. When I came across the Falcon, I was taken away by it's smoothness and the control of this pedal. All I can say is that you MUST try this pedal out before you spend too much money on the others.
Sound
It's a pedal....it makes no sound. But it is totally silent in it's movement.
Features
I was very impress with the accessories that came with the pedal. 10 and 20 gram beater weights, two cams types, chain and strap drives and an sweet heavy duty travel bag. All items are top notch and very well made.
Ease of Use
Mapex did an amazing job in making the adjustments on the pedal very easy to execute. From the beater angle to pedal board adjustments and even the changing of drive types, it's all very easy to do.
Quality
The quality is astounding! All parts of this pedal are top grade and function perfectly. Completely smooth and totally silent pedal action is a testament to the quality parts and craftsmanship that Mapex has designed into this pedal.
Value… read more
I'm happy that Mapex didn't charge the ABSURD price that Pear Demon Drive, DW 9000 or even Axis if asking for their pedals. I have used them all and, for me, the Mapex Falcon is equal if not a better pedal than any of thees. $388 is a bargain for what you get and for how it performs. Well done Mapex!

The Wow Factor
In my opinion, this pedal looks great! I have gotten nothing but compliments from drummers and non drummers on how good it looks in person. The finish is beautiful. Never thought I would say that about a pedal....
