LD Systems ICOA SUB18A Powered Subwoofer Speaker

Pump any venue with loud and clear bass with the ICOA SUB 18 A. This 18" sub pumps out up to 2400 watts of peak power all the way down to a guttural 29 Hz.

Music starts to really groove when you can feel the bass in your body. The ICOA SUB can deliver as much bass as you want - to get the people rocking and entice them to the dance floor. It can even lend a multimedia presentation that special oomph it needs to reach its audience.

The ICOA SUB pumps out serious bass and gives you greater headroom and a clearer sound. This is because your subwoofer relieves the main speaker, whose woofers are now less burdened by high-energy bass impulses, resulting in less intermodulation distortion. Even at higher volumes, the sound doesn't get muffled. Voices and instruments stay crystal clear.

Thanks to its powerful Class D amplifier with 600-watt RMS or 2400-watt peak output, you have some serious power at your command. The presets of the integrated DynX DSP - which offers crossover frequencies of 80, 100 and 120 Hz - let you finely balance your ICOA SUB perfectly with your system. Signal polarity can also be reversed and the SUB offers a delay line-preset for distances up to 10 meters.

When your needs begin to expand as the venues get bigger, your setup can grow along with you. Simply add more ICOA SUBs, which can be operated in parallel, giving you more and more power. You can also take advantage of the cardioid-preset. Simply position the additional subwoofers next to your ICOA SUB facing to the rear and enable the cardioid-preset to get a quieter and controlled low-end at the back while still keeping the punch at the front.

The rugged read more housings made of 18 mm laminated wood can be stacked, while the M20 thread on top lets you mount the main speakers using a distance pole. Transport is simplified by mounting rollers to the rear. Corner protectors guard the edges during setup. To keep the ICOA SUB from slipping out of your hands, its four aluminium grips are covered in rubber.
Whether you're a DJ, singer-songwriter, rock or party band, the ICOA SUB produces the perfect bass to complement your live music. Lectures and multimedia presentations also benefit from its clarity and powerful presence, giving you the proper support to amplify emotions in your audience.

I ordered 2 of these subs on a whim. I needed a pair quick for an upcoming gig where space would be limited for using my passive subs and amp rack. I have been wanting a powered pair of subs and had my eyes on the QSC KS118's, however, the price for a pair of those were doubled. With fingers crossed, I put these subs in my cart and checked out. They arrived 2 days later and I was impressed when unboxing them. They look sleek and stylish, yet well built. I set the subs crossover to handle frequencies below 100 Hz to allow my tops to work light duty. I played a bass-heavy song as a test and dialed the subs back to -20db. They kicked out the bass and were nowhere close to the limit mark. I went as far a -5db and had plenty of bass for most events. I think -10db on these subs will be my sweet spot. They are marketed to be 2400 watts with RMS at 600w, which is why I was skeptical. However, they punch hard. I haven't tried them in cardioid mode, nor have I taken them to a gig yet. If they hold up and keep playing without any issues, I think these subs will exceed my expectations I had for them. Only time will tell.If I had to be nit-picky and find a Con about these subs, it would be the wheel option. These subs come with the bolts installed where you can add optional caster wheels. I went to several hardware stores and Harbor Freight looking for wheels. The issue is with the wheel plates. None of the bolt holes (spacing), match the wheels that are available. So I have 2 choices at this read more point. Either buy 18" dollies to sat them on, or machine a metal plate aligned with the speaker holes and mount the wheels to the plate, then plate to the subs. That said, I am pleased with the purchase thus far.
