iRig BlueBoard is the first wireless MIDI pedalboard for iOS. It features four backlit rubber-pad switches and two inputs for connecting optional expression pedals/switches.
Using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), iRig BlueBoard sends out its signals wirelessly. The signals are then converted to MIDI messages by the BlueBoard companion app, which runs in the background on the iOS device. The MIDI messages can be used to control program, bank up/down, and MIDI continuous controllers, as well as other parameters on apps such as IK's AmpliTube, VocaLive, SampleTank, and iGrand, or any other Core MIDI compatible app like Apple GarageBand.
The low-profile iRig BlueBoard is only 9.1" (23cm) wide, and it runs on 4 AAA batteries. Because it communicates with the mobile device via Bluetooth, it leaves the 30-pin, Lightning and mini-jack connector on the mobile device free for connection with other IK accessories like iRig HD, iRig Stomp, iRig, iRig MIC, iRig MIDI, iRig Keys or any other accessory, to be used in combination.
Guitar and bass players, singers and keyboard players will now be able to play and control their preferred iPhone, iPod touch or iPad app onstage or in the studio, with the same degree of performance control offered by traditional music hardware, and they'll have the freedom of not being tethered by cables. iRig BlueBoard companion apps for other computer and mobile platforms will be available the near future.
