I was looking for a good DAW controller in the $200-$400 price range other than the Faderport> I've used the Faderport in the past. Liked it but wanted something new. The P1-Nano had everything that I wanted and more. I use Studio One (Pro) and it appears to work with it as well. I looked at the few reviews on line that I could find about it and most sounded positive. I should've looked longer. So I buy it. zZounds had it delivered quickly and safely, as usual. LOVE ZZOUNDS!!! Its a very sturdy and well made controller. Doesn't look or feel cheap in any way. The problems started with the iMap software that you need to use for it to work properly. Its the handshake between your DAW and the controller. There's even a VERY specific step-by-step process that needs to be followed or the controller wont function properly within your DAW. Anyway, The DAW connection wasn't the problem.You need to use the iMap software to update the firmware and change the button mapping on the nano itself. I got through the firmware update cleanly as well. But then the crashes started. EVERYTIME I opened iMap and tried to change any of the button mapping it crashes. Sometimes it crashes right after opening. My PC is more than capable and well within the minimum requirements for this thing. I went through all of the self-help steps and read as much troubleshooting information as I could find on the internet as I could. I've contacted the ICON support staff and I'm still waiting for a response. ***I do… read more have to say the the design of the touchscreen button layout is really damn cool. The whole thing is really well designed from a physical workflow aspect***THE VERDICT IS STILL OUT for me because I have the thing sitting 2 inches away and I'd like to figure it out BUT I would steer clear of this product for the time being.
