I love this bass and I would recommend it to anyone.
Sound
It has an active 3-band EQ that uses a 9-volt battery. I have read a lot of bad reviews about EMG HZ pickups but I like the sound of the bass. I like a low and thick sound when I play so I turn the low all the way up and the mids and highs all the way down and it gives me a boosted low sound. This bass has a great slap sound.
Features
It came with a Ibanez instrument cable and 2 wrenches for the bass.
Ease of Use
The action is really low, almost too low for my playing. I like the feel of the neck too.
Quality
I would actually rate the quality 9.8/10. I have never played a bad Ibanez guitar or bass. I played a cheap Ibanez GSR 100 bass before I upgraded to this and even that bass had excellent quality. But the B-string feels loose to me, but this is the first 5-string bass that I have spent a lot of time playing and I am not a bass expert.
Value
I paid $550 and it is worth it.
The Wow Factor
The Quilted Maple looks great.
