I owned an SR305 and I absolutely loved it. Played great out of the box and the tones were solid. It was a great starter bass. I wanted a new 4-string upgrade to my old pawn store special bass and I found this guy. It's pretty and had the same pickups as my old Ibanez so I thought I'd give it a try. That lasted exactly one evening. The truss rod was way way way out of whack and the neck was bent so far backwards, that the fret buzz was out of control pretty much everywhere. I adjusted as much as I could, but I could not get this thing comfortable to play. I was able to eliminate a lot of the fret buzz, but not all of it. The master volume knob was completely loose and I was surprised it hadn't been shoved into the cavity of the bass. It wasn't comfortable to play at all. I normally am a big fan of Ibanez basses, but this one missed the mark big time. I returned it and shelled out a little more for a Japanese Fender Jazz Bass Special and I'm a happy man now. Very disappointing, but I am not over Ibanez. This bass was/is beautiful and the pickups sounded ok, but the setup and the warped neck really let me down. I'm sure not all of these basses are as bad as the one I returned, but I'm just going off of my personal experience. My next bass will likely be an Ibanez, but I will shell out a little more for a premium bass.
