HEDD Type 30 MK2 3-Way Active Studio Monitor

The TYPE 30 MK2 is HEDD’s 3-way flagship for no-compromise monitoring in mid to large recording and mastering studios.

With two horizontally arranged 7" woofers, one 5" driver for the midrange, and HEDD's very own high definition Air Motion Transformer (HEDD AMT), it offers all the power, flexibility, and dynamics you need to do your job (and impress your customers).

Working on a SHARC-DSP, the TYPE 30 MK2 is packed with HEDD technology. The onboard Lineariser takes care of the time alignment of the different drivers, giving you better insights into the stereo image and overall staging. CoP technology lets you pick your favorite speaker mode: Eiter closed (for no compromise accuracy) or Ported if you prefer to work at higher SPL and in musical genres, where access to very low-frequency areas is a must.

And there is more: The TYPE 30 MK2 offers Desktop filters (for positioning them on a meter bridge for example) and Bass / High-frequency Shelving options to further adapt the speakers to your room. And a distinct Bass-Extension mode lets you access even lower frequency areas, adding real subwoofer feel. All these controls are accessible via stepped aluminum potentiometers.

HEDD Lineariser

The HEDD Lineariser is fully integrated into the HEDD Type 30 MK2 monitors. With the phase linearity enabled we can solve time-related delays with a non-perceivable short reaction of 14ms. Effectively, this improves transients and imaging precision. For the first time, the phase correction can be synched with HEDD's BASS subwoofer range to compensate for group delay in a sat-sub system. Of course, the HEDD Lineariser is optional and can be disengaged.

CoP: Closed or Ported

Like most monitors, the Type 30 MK2 speakers are based on a Ported base system that allows for a voluminous bass response with impressive extension. However, the same speakers can transform into a functionally new design with the flip of a switch and the use of the included plugs.
