Gretsch Blackhawk Hardware pack at $149.99. I just ordered and received my new Cat Maple kit and with that I will be selling either my Cat Birch kit or my Sonor 3007’s. To do this I thought it would sell better with hardware included so I looked on line and found both Ludwig and Gretsch had hardware packs at $149.99. Now I know at $150 what you get is what you get but knowing I will be selling the hardware with the kit I would order the Gretsch pack. The Gretsch pack has two telescoping cymbal stand sections and the Ludwig pack only had one telescoping section. Actually this hardware turns out to be better than expected. Now I’m not saying this is tour quality stuff but for the price not bad. Here is the run down. The cymbal stands have memory locks on each section as do the high-hat and snare stand. Wasn’t expecting memory locks on the cymbal stands. All Stands are double braced. The boom can be hidden in the top straight section of the boom stand. The boom itself is a mini boom in length, about 12 inches. The high-hat has adjustable tension spring and a swivel base. The snare stand is very typical and sturdy. In fact all the stands are sturdy. The pedal is very basic but does have a flat panel base and two screw spurs. It’s not a bad feel but this might be better used as a spare with your show kit than a main pedal. The only week part I see on this hardware is the plastic inset at each telescoping connection point. It is small… read more and could fall out of the connection point. Again knowing this is $150 hardware this is to be expected. Bottom line would be if you need hardware for a kit that isn’t on the go say a practice kit for the price this I would recommend this pack.
