Due to a stroke last year, playing my 5 string Fender jazz was laborious. I was thankful I could still play despite the deficit but it took so much out of me. A friend lent her 4 string short scale to me me for a month to try. I was convinced that this was the direction I needed to go to make playing fun again. After much research this was the choice I made and I am very happy with this bass.I have large hands but my fingers don't stretch like they used to. The neck is great. I did a little tweaking on the pickup height and it has a great sound. I just finished my first weekend of gigs and it was fun again to play.
