This guitar ticked off a bunch of things I wanted to try, but not spend a lot of money on. I mostly play rosewood and spruce, but wanted to try mahogany. I wanted a 12 fret steel string, I usually play 14. I wanted to try a resonator, but didn't want to pay the money for a National. And I was looking for a guitar to fool around with open tunings. I looked around and saw others on the market for less money, but they looked like junk. I am not a great player, but I am unhappy with the sound of poor quality instruments. I was very pleased with the quality of this guitar for the money. Neck was nice and straight. Finish was clean and beautiful. No buzz. It came out of the box with a decent setup in standard tuning. I didn't have to adjust anything. It handled open tunings well. I think If I wanted to keep it setup for Open C, I might put on a new nut or maybe some higher gauge strings. But it handled Open G and Open D well as it came out of the box. Also this was the first time ordering from zZounds. That process was entirely painless and went off without a hitch. The guitar even showed up a day early.
