Gibson Dirty Fingers Electric Guitar Pickup

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
When you need to crank the gain to 11, reach for a Dirty Fingers humbucker. Overwound for maximum output, this pickup also maintains a smooth, even sound.

The Gibson Dirty Fingers humbucker is an accurate replica of the famous super-hot humbucker introduced by Gibson in the 1970s. Appropriately named, the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup is manufactured with three powerful ceramic magnets to produce massive output for maximum in-your-face output without compromising the original tone of your guitar in any way. The pickup's overwound yet balanced coils feature adjustable pole pieces, which allow you to fine-tune the output of each individual string.

The Dirty Fingers also features shielded, four-conductor wiring for series, parallel, or split-coil operation and is fully wax-potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback. Whether you're crunching hefty rhythm parts in a dropped tuning or peeling the paint off the wall with a blistering lead, the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup puts your sound out front where it belongs. If you want maximum output and sustain, this is your pickup. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

I had one of these in an 80s Gibson that had a single cut weird body with a hockey stick headstock. This was when Gibson did a bunch of strange guitars because of the 70s and 80s competition. This pickup is blazing hot which was very welcome back then using a tube amp. Now, I don't think hot pickups are needed unless you're using tube amps and like me back then just went straight to the amp with little or no effects. With modellers and such I think more sensitive pickups with better feel are the best option, but that's just my opinion. What do I know. Great sounding pickup though. If you want hot. EMG like hot, this thing sizzles.
