I had one of these in an 80s Gibson that had a single cut weird body with a hockey stick headstock. This was when Gibson did a bunch of strange guitars because of the 70s and 80s competition. This pickup is blazing hot which was very welcome back then using a tube amp. Now, I don't think hot pickups are needed unless you're using tube amps and like me back then just went straight to the amp with little or no effects. With modellers and such I think more sensitive pickups with better feel are the best option, but that's just my opinion. What do I know. Great sounding pickup though. If you want hot. EMG like hot, this thing sizzles.

I bought a rhythm and a treble of these pickups and put them in my Epiphone Les Paull studio, although I had to buy an adapter online for the quick connect, i love the sound and the output, it gives me that pure rock and metal sound that i've been looking for.Well worth the money. And just for the record, the adapter online did not cost very much.It was only like thirty bucks.
