Gibson Custombucker Electric Guitar Pickup

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Found in Gibson Custom Shop models, install a Custombucker in your own guitar and experience the coveted, authentic Patent-Applied-For tone.

The Gibson Custombucker is standard equipment on the Gibson Custom Shop's Historic Reissue guitars and beloved by players worldwide for its legendary Patent Applied For tone. Years of research and testing by Gibson engineers resulted in a formula and process that replicates the sonic magic of the original Patent Applied For humbucker(TM) pickups from the 50s.

Each Custombucker uses Alnico 3 magnets for a warm, sweet tone that accurately delivers the sonic characteristics of those highly cherished early humbuckers. Like the original Patent Applied For humbuckers, the Custombucker uses 42 AWG wire and unbalanced coils that are left unpotted for a historically accurate pickup that will please even the most discriminating player.

I was hesitant to spend that much on two pickups; but I really wouldn’t spend the money for an historic reissue Gibson, so I hoped this would work in one of my guitars. I play through a Fender Blues Jr tube amp, and that has a tremendous clean tone with adjustable reverb. Man I thought I sounded like Scotty Moore playing with Elvis , or some such! I highly recommend if you want that PAF tone. Most pickups today seem way too bright for me with few exceptions.
