Fulltone 69 mkII Fuzz Pedal

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Full of fat fuzz tone that's highly receptive to your volume knob and dynamics, the Fulltone 69 MkII is one for the Fuzz Face purists.

This is how you wished your Fuzzface sounded... Fat and Harmonic. What's more, it cleans up like a vintage Fender amp when you turn down your guitar's volume control -- a trick utilized by legends such as the Rolling Stones and The Black Crowes.

This is the smaller box version they call the 69 mkII. It contains 2 of Fulltone's favorite-ever Fat-Body germanium transistors, the same exact ones Fulltone used in their favorite era of '69 pedal from 1994 through 1997. This Germanium Transistor equipped Fuzz circuit is identical to early Arbiter Fuzzfaces, but allows for a few key adjustments to things like the Input level, the Mids, and even the Transistor Bias. One of the desirable traits of Germanium Transistors (when matched properly) is their Tube-like responsiveness and thick, even harmonics....the other being they clean up incredibly by turning down the guitar's volume knob! Leave the Fuzz all the way up and use your guitar's knob to get everything you need.

Features:

- The fat & harmonic fuzz tone you always wanted
- Cleans up like a vintage Fender amp with the guitar's volume down
- 2 Fat-Body germanium transistors
- Identical to early Arbiter Fuzzfaces
- Tube-like responsiveness and thick, even harmonics
- Input level controls signal level going into the circuit
- The Contour Knob dials in Midrange, Harmonics & Sustain
- The Transistor Bias allows for even more tonal control
- Internal Trimmer for adjusting Clipping Symmetry, Harmonics, & Tracking

If you love the read more first 2 Hendrix releases then you'll love this pedal -- boasting 2 Germanium transistors hand-picked and tested for optimum performance. A Contour Knob lets you dial in Midrange, Harmonics and Sustain, also an Input Bias knob that takes out the "woofiness" and gives great Overdrive/Distortion sounds when its level is reduced. An Internal Trimmer allows for adjustment of Clipping Symmetry, Harmonics, and Tracking.

True-Bypass w/LED is standard equipment to preserve tone when the pedal is off!

The Fulltone 69 mkII houses a Bias-internal trimmer that changes the shape of the distortion. Counter clockwise settings will yield harder, louder, less compressed fuzz with more Midrange, which Fulltone recommends in order to achieve a smooth, softer, tube-like tone.

Note: You may hear some crackle noises while turning the Contour, Bias, and Fuzz pots. This is normal so don't worry.

Controls

Volume: controls the output level of the device when pedal is on.

Input: Controls input impedance. Full clockwise rotation gets stock Fuzzface sounds. Lowering this knob lets the pedal work with wah wahs better and removes the "woofiness" or bass that can sometimes muddy-up a Fuzzface-type circuit.

Contour: This very effective knob adds Midrange clarity and overall gain when turned clockwise and is out of the circuit and stock Fuzzface-style at full counter-clockwise.

Fuzz: Controls amount of distortion/fuzz when rotated clockwise, usually best sounding at full clockwise. You can clean-up the sound by turning down your guitar's volume control!

Battery access: Simply unscrew the 4 knurled thumbscrews (on the sides of the pedal) counter-clockwise and remove bottom-plate...no screwdriver necessary! Do not reinstall these too tight.........hand tight will do!
