The Pro-EQ Platinum's four-band equalizer is modeled after Fishman's gig-proven Prefix Plus onboard preamp, with sliders that are assigned to just the right frequencies for acoustic equalization. read more A semi-parametric midrange control employs a "constant Q" filter for more precise and consistent tone adjustments. Also borrowed from the Prefix design are feedback fighting phase and notch controls.

The Pro-EQ Platinum features the exclusive "Voltage Doubler" technology, which improves both the dynamics and clarity of any pickup. Another innovation utilized in the Platinum is the Smooth acoustic compression circuit. This control removes the harsh percussive edge from your amplified sound when you play hard.

Sound engineers will appreciate the Pro-EQ Platinum's pro-audio features which include a balanced XLR out, an XLR pre/post EQ switch, plus optional 48-Volt phantom power operation. This means no more batteries or wall warts if your mixer has phantom power. Unique to the Pro-EQ Platinum is a hum-killing ground lift switch that (unlike other acoustic preamp/DI's) works even when phantom power is applied to the preamp.

If lost or stolen, I would definitely buy another one.
I've been searching high and low for a setup that will make a plugged-in acoustic sound acoustic--THIS IS IT! Sounds better than the onboard piezo/mic Fishman I had on my Rainsong. I use it on a non-electric Rainsong DR1100 with a Fishman passive humbucker soundhole pickup and I can get anything from sweet, warm rhythm sounds to crisp sounding finger picking without any harshness. This combo definitely sounds better than any piezo under saddle pickups I've ever heard ...wonder what the Mexico City guy had his hooked up to?
Some reverb and/or chorus would make this a 12...
Ease of Use
Very straightforward...especially if you read the User's Guide!
Injection molded plastic top, metal case bottom. Definitely tough enough
Definitely worth the price!
