Whatever you end up doing, you're going to need to be heard, and the Fender Passport Portable PA systems are the easiest, most convenient, and best-sounding way to amplify your voice, you music, and your ideas. While Fender has many Passport models, from light and compact to big and powerful, the Fender PD250PLUS has the right blend of volume, clarity, features, delivering self-contained amplification for any situation.

Everything You Need
The one thing no one wants is to be the A/V club president, hunched over that loaded-down equipment cart, keeping track of all the necessary components and connectors, fumbling to get everything connected in time for the big event. With the Passport PD250PLUS, setup couldn't be easier. Absolutely everything you'll need is included with the Passport, and everything folds up into a single-piece that can be easily carried with one hand. The Passport combines the main PA system components, a mixer and a power amplifier, into one core unit. The other most important part of a PA is the speakers (also included), and they attach firmly to the center mixing unit for transport. Not only does this all-in-one concept save on setup time and make portage easy, but Fender made sure that every piece read more of the PD250 system is perfectly matched and calibrated to one another. No worrying about whether your speaker enclosures are the correct impedance and power handling for your amplifier, or trying to figure out Ohm's law to make sure you're not going to blow your system. The Passport has everything figured out for you--it's a truly plug-and-play PA. And when we say "everything you need," we mean everything. All necessary power and speaker wires are included and fit neatly into the back of the mixer for storage. . . there's even a high-quality microphone included that's perfectly-suited for both singing and spoken word. Finally, the PD250PLUS has the added bonus of a built-in CD player. You've got instant accompaniment to your workouts, underscoring for you presentations, or background music for you to take a break between sets. And with that CD player built-in, there's no fussing with wires or fooling with headphone output volume; the entire Passport system is complete and ready to go at a moment's notice.

Power And Clarity
Ease-of-setup is nice, but the main goal here is to be heard. The powerful PD250PLUS boasts 250 watts of power. It's enough wattage to address or entertain groups of up to 500 people, all without having to contend with distorted music or indistinct vocals. The Passport achieves an unrivaled sonic fidelity thanks to its perfectly-matched power amp and speaker system, but also because of the design of the speaker enclosures themselves. Each of the two cabinets features two 5.5-inch woofers for low- and mid-range frequencies and two 2.75-inch tweeters for higher-frequency reproduction. The dual-woofers provide power and punch for music, while the tweeters keep vocals crisp and articulate. The design also provides wide sound coverage, so that no matter where your audience is, you can be sure they'll hear you.

Flexibility For Any Situation
The mixer layout on the Passport 250 is simple, but effective. The first four mono channels are suitable for microphones or instrument inputs, and the linked 5th and 6th channels can accept stereo instruments, like keyboards and DJ gear, or a second auxiliary input, like audio from a computer or MP3 player. It's got plenty of channels for small acoustic groups with multiple instruments, or presentations with multiple speakers and audio sources. Each channel has its own equalization controls to sweeten the sound of individual instruments or voices, and there's a master EQ that makes it easy to find and eliminate feedback in any space. The PD250PLUS even sports a digital effects section. If you're feeling adventurous, why not experiment with the on-board reverb? It's amazing how such a simple effect can add professional sheen to sung melodies and acoustic guitar. All the controls are clearly labeled and intuitively arranged, so even if you're a live-sound novice, you'll be sculpting your mix with the confidence of a seasoned pro.

Every aspect of the Fender Passport was designed to make your amplified life easier. From transport to setup to operation, the PD250PLUS nearly operates itself! With plenty of power, crystal audio clarity and self-explanatory controls, the only challenge in owning your Passport 250 will be deciding what you want to use it for!

I will buy more FENDER PA systems to fit my Audio needs in the future. I recommend this system and all the other FENDER PA systems to any musician, DJ, performer, or corporate audio manager. This is a must have. Don't buy all the other mixers, players, powered speakers, Buy this first and you will see no need for anything else.

Sound
I have owned over a dozen different setups over the past 20 years and was very skeptical about going with a Passport PA. My experience with the PA was with one of the first systems back in the late 90's and I liked it but thought it looked fragile. So I blew my money on all the expensive brand names which sounded good but broke my back. NOW I finally took the plunge and paid $800 plus for this system which is a great price for what you get. This system was designed by Bose and when I put it side by side with the best Bose on the market the sound is crystal clear and nearly the same despite dispersion range of the Bose (you DJ's know which one I am speaking of!". I love my Fender and I use it in place of my other more expensive brands. Planning to buy more.

Features
This came with 2 wired mics and the CD player is handy since now I don't have to drag my extras. I setup with 2 mp3 players for Back Up, 2 wireless rechargeable Mics, 1 of these Mics, and my 2 Laptops running different versions of Virtual DJ. The only problem I have had is the police have been called when I cranked read more it. I find if you put the volume on 4 or 5 out of 10 for the main then 1 or 2 out of 10 for the input you can party all night. Any higher you might get a ticket.

Ease of Use
My performance worries have subsided. I was worried about using a button knob controller vice the sliders that I have used in previous years. I work primarily from my laptop now so as long as VDJ works I am good. I have mixed between the CD player (which is very slow to load but if you get it up it runs great with burned CD's) and MP3 players. Sounds good and I can control the boom, great controls for High, Mid, Lows. This is plug and play at its best.

Quality
Durable, portable, setup and tear down in a less than 2 minutes. The speakers scratch quickly but the faces stay unblemished. The faces are all that matter to me since the crowd sees that part. I have had this thing in the rain and it is leak proof. I also dropped it off a dolly last night skidding it across the pavement; scratched the crap out of the box (should have bought the cover) I held my breath until I got plugged in, fired up the CD player and it worked same as usual. RUGGED!

Value
Priced kind of on the high end but try pricing a high quality Bose & Fender Quality portable sound system like this with Mixer and CD player and see how much it comes up to. The only comparable is the Yamaha Passport but smaller speakers, mixer complicated and does not pack up well without the bag. The others will price well over $1500 for all that. 2 Mackies or 2 JBL's a Mixer, and a CD Player would run you a bit and I can tell you, you may laugh but many a venue has told me they sound just as good if not better than my Mackie's. Oh, and ZZounds was awesome when they included my free speaker stands with this. They look awesome mounted or on a table.

Manufacturer Support
Have not had to use them for support or service after about 5 months. Hopefully I won't have to.

The Wow Factor
Very Sexy, Sleek, and Compliments from my customers have been phenomenal. I want one of each model now, trying to sell off my other systems. I no longer pull a cargo hauler behind my truck for Gigs. The older you get the better you get and the smarter you get. Doing more for less is the appeal of this great system. Wish I had started with the Fender PA but I was critical of the compact PA. Now I will never look back, packing up the other systems to sell on EBAY today. Don't want to spend more on the Bose either, useless and very fragile. Fender now has a customer for life.
