Fender MTG Tube Distortion Pedal

No longer available at zZounds
Co-designed with amp legend Bruce Egnater, the Fender MTG Tube Distortion pedal features an actual 6205 preamp tube for rich, organic saturation.

Many pedals try to emulate the sound of tube breakup; we decided instead of emulating tube distortion, we'd use actual vacuum tubes and give you the real deal in a compact pedal. The heart of the MTG's design is a NOS (New Old Stock) US-made 6205 preamp tube. 3-Band EQ with Tight control and switchable boost -- with its own Level and Boost controls -- makes it easy to dial-in just the right sound.

Co-designed with Bruce Egnater, the Fender MTG Tube Distortion is an all-original Fender circuit. To ensure this pedal is performance-ready we let musicians kick it around, took their feedback to heart and refined it. The chassis is crafted from lightweight, durable anodized aluminum, and the Amp Jewel LED gives your pedalboard the classic Fender look. The LED-backlit knobs show your control settings on a dark stage at a glance.

Use the MTG Tube Distortion on your next gig or session to bring the sound of true tube breakup to your rig.

Before I bought this pedal, I had the Ibanez Tube Screamer, BOSS DS-1, and Electro-Harmonix Big Muff on my pedal board.Five minutes after messing with the MTG Tube Distortion Pedal, I tossed aside my DS-1.This thing is absolutely killer. The tones I am pulling out (in conjunction with my Vox AC30 and Fender Elite Strat (SSS Configuration) ) are out of this world! And then to add even more bite the Tube Screamer accentuates it perfectly, but it sounds great on its own as well. This pedal is great for classic rock, punk, and alternative rock, but it can even be pushed for light medal (think Iron Maiden). It's just a great pedal all around, and I highly recommend it.
