"Needs a setup but is a fantastic strat."

Not the best strat I've ever played but it's up there! I will be getting a suhr soon but will always play this guitar. It came shipped not to my particular specs, but it solves a void of mine, being without a strat for over a year. The color is perfect. The pickups are solid. I only use the neck pickup but have used and played all positions. Make sure you know how yo set it up or have someone who can do it for you.
Sound
The tone is exactly what you would expect from a strat. It's got that classic strat tone. There's way less hum with the noiseless pickups. I honestly want that texas hot tone that's a bit thicker with more bite. I can use an effect to get there but this isn't a deal breaker. They're growing on me in the tone department.
Features
Locking tuners are lame. I never had that much trouble with that because I wrap the string under the winding... old trick I learned but other than that the nut needs some love. I wish they used graphite or some other material that is higher end... it's plastic and it's crap. Some of the frets still buzz but it's because I use "Ernie Ball BEEFY SLINKY" 11-52 And I tune down a half step. I needed to block the bridge because I bend too much. Whole step sometimes step and a half bends. I also had to set the saddles up to fix the torque the strings were making. Once I got that all sorted, it sounds great. The fret buzz doesn't get heard plugged in so it's just me nit picking a moderately… read more priced guitar.
Ease of Use
You get the strat tone right out of the box. But my setup and tone is slightly different. I have a katana that I use both eq's. It gives me everything I need to dial in my tones. Sometimes it's too much choice. I can get lost in that but this review is about the Strat.
Quality
Its built well for being Hecho en Mexico
Value
I don't know if the guitar is worth the price I paid. All I know is that I wanted a good, green strat that I can depend on. That's what I got.
Manufacturer Support
No need... The product is perfect for what they advertised.
The Wow Factor
It appeals to me because of the green. It's also supposed to be a player strat which is leagues ahead of a squire or a Mexican strat, which I've had for over 20 years... I got pretty much the same quality from my 2004 made in Mexico strat with a few new additions... locking tuners, noisless pickups, treble circuit... if the extras are worth the 300-500 bucks, remains to be seen. Time and gigging will tell that story. As of now, No complaints.
Musical Background:
30 years of playing guitar
Musical Style:
Funk, reggae, blues, soul, folk, rock, metal, classical, alternative, grunge, nu-metal etc... I love and appreciate all music. read less
