I've been playing a fretless Jazz Bass and a modified early '60's Jaguar for the last 30 years as my main instruments and was craving something new. Although hesitant to buy online without playing first, I bought the Tele Deluxe with a mercury finish and rosewood fretboard after watching all the YouTube vids I could find and I hit the jackpot with this baby.Going from a Jag to this new Tele was like graduating from a child's toy to a grown-up instrument overnight. Every note shines. I like to pluck the guitar with my fingers the same way I play bass, and the response is perfect on this guitar (the strings are strung thru the back, but you could string them from the bridge if that's your preference).I'm thrilled with this guitar. I generally keep it set for both humbuckers with the tone on the bridge dialed to around 4 and the neck dialed up around 8, and I don't use the single coil feature at all, but nice to know it's there. I like to snap my strings when I really get going and make all kinds of rude noises and this guitar really seems to enjoy the rough treatment.
