ESP's Committed Luthiers

Japanese-made guitars are renowned for the attention each luthier pays to crafting a neck with comfortable and tight action. The result is an instrument with a fingerboard that plays like butter while maintaining steadfast intonation. The ESP E-II series bridges the gap between mass-produced guitars and custom axes at prices that won't destroy your wallet, and your ESP E-II Eclipse DB electric guitar will deliver on all expectations the very moment you hit your first chord.

Iconic Eclipse Body

This axe boasts an attractive yet stark Eclipse body shape. The wide cutaway offers a striking visual flair, while at the same time allowing your fingers easy access to those higher frets. This Eclipse is crafted from mahogany and maple -- a classic tonewood pairing. The maple top is made to stand up well to scratches and read more abrasions, while adding a welcomed snappiness to your sound. Mahogany is all about those lows and mids, pushing a resonance full of body perfect for the rock enthusiast.

EMG Humbucking PAF Tone

If you're looking for that PAF sound with a slightly hotter output, then you'll love the pair of humbuckers adorning your ESP E-II Eclipse DB. The active EMG 81 at the bridge and the EMG 60 at the neck work together to bring you a wide range of tonal possibilities, with a high-output intensity that slices through the air. Your sound will maintain a clear articulation even when you flood your signal with hefty loads of gain. Take advantage of each independent volume control to blend these two baddies the way you see fit.

Set-in Mahogany Neck

Set-in mahogany necks have a sturdy, solid feel to them, yet this appendage's Thin U shape makes for a comfortable fit for your hand to enjoy. A buttery ebony fingerboard spans 22 frets long, and a razor-tight action makes for an all-around addicting playing experience for any shredder to take advantage of. See why ESP's luthiers get so much praise when your fingers take this fretboard for a sonic spin.

This thing slays. Right out of the box it had the closest action I've ever seen, with not even the slightest bit of string/fret buzz. The neck and frets are smooth as butter. You can really feel the care and precision it was made with. The sound puts every guitar I've played to shame. It's got the deep, growling low end of a Gibson, with smooth, fluffy treble. Don't be skeptical about the EMG pickups, they really fit well with this guitar's natural tone. Although any pickups would sound good in this beast of a guitar. Also, unlike most 24.75 scale guitars, this one can handle baritone tunings without ridiculously thick strings. If you're thinking about getting this guitar, stop thinking and pull the trigger on it.
