A "Vintage" SG

The SG Classic Worn has a solid Mahogany body along with an SG-style "batwing" pickguard. The SG Classic Worn has the same historic profile of the vintage SG that briefly replaced the Les Paul as the ultimate solid-body guitar. The set Mahogany neck has an easy-to-play '60s era SlimTaper profile with a worn open grain finish that combined with the worn color finishes gives the SG Classic Worn an elegant look. The neck has a 24.75" scale length, 22 medium jumbo frets, an Indian Laurel fingerboard with dot inlays, and a 12" fingerboard radius. The fingerboard has white binding and the ABS nut is 1.68". Epiphone's famous small sloped dovewing headstock has a "bell" shaped truss rod cover and along with an Epiphone 60s-era slanted logo in mother of pearl. The SG Classic Worn is available in Worn Cherry and Worn Inverness.

Soapbar P-90 PRO Single Coil Pickups

The Epiphone SG Classic Worn Collection features two black P-90 PRO single coil pickups. The P-90 PRO single coil pickup follows in the footsteps of Epiphone's critically acclaimed ProBucker humbuckers and feature 8% Nickel Silver covers designed and tooled from the ground up with new bobbins manufactured to historic dimensions, Elektrisola magnet wire, sand cast Alnico V magnets, and pole read more shoes manufactured using correct alloys and to Gibson's original dimensions. Each pickup has a Volume and Tone control with vintage-styled Black Top Hats knobs with inserts plus Epiphone's all-metal 3-way pickup selector switch with a white cap and SG style Rhythm and Treble etching in silver.

LockTone ABR Bridge and Stopbar Tailpiece

The SG Classic Worn comes with Epiphone's rock solid nickel hardware including a LockTone ABR bridge and Stopbar tailpiece combo that auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed. Tuning is fast and accurate with Epiphone Deluxe tuners with white plastic buttons.

Got to my house in Alaska only 4 days after ordering, which is very impressive (nothing ever comes that fast in the great white north). Set up was great out of the box, except for some minor fret buzz on the b and high e strings, which was fixed with a few minor adjustments. The “worn” open wood grain finish feels amazing and fast to play. Makes me never want to go back to gloss finishes. The p90s crunch and scream beautifully. Sustain could be better, but hey, it’s $380... I couldn’t be happier with a guitar for less that $400. I’ve never known a guitar of this quality could exist for less than $400, and not only sound this good, but look this good. Love my little green machine.

Musical Background:

Gigging in bars and small stages

Hard/Classic Rock, Punk
