The History of the Hummingbird

The Hummingbird acoustic guitar was first released in 1960 and was the first Gibson & Epiphone dreadnaught guitar. With its distinctive "square" shoulder, it quickly became a rock classic thanks in part to Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used a Hummingbird on hits like "Play With Fire" and "Under My Thumb." Solid Spruce Tonewood

The Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic/Electric has a select Mahogany body and a Solid Spruce top with a beautiful cutaway never seen before on a Hummingbird. Spruce is a rich and complex tonewood that will sound even better as it ages. The more you play, the better it sounds! The select Mahogany neck has 24.75" scale and a classic SlimTaper D profile and is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint.
