This limited-edition Epiphone Hummingbird PRO takes the elegant look and acoustic tone you love from the original, and adds a cutaway for better fret access.

The Epiphone Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic/Electric puts a twist on the 60s classic with an elegant cutaway plus the new Fishman Sonitone and Sonicore pickup system for superior acoustic tone when plugged in.

The History of the Hummingbird

The Hummingbird acoustic guitar was first released in 1960 and was the first Gibson & Epiphone dreadnaught guitar. With its distinctive "square" shoulder, it quickly became a rock classic thanks in part to Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used a Hummingbird on hits like "Play With Fire" and "Under My Thumb." Today, the Hummingbird is still considered a superb rhythm guitar for its woody tone and easy action along with its distinctive "Hummingbird" pickguard. Now with Fishman Sonitone and Sonicore pickup system, you can plug in the Hummingbird Performer PRO and get true acoustic tone on any size stage.

Solid Spruce Tonewood

The Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic/Electric has a select Mahogany body and a Solid Spruce top with a beautiful cutaway never seen before on a Hummingbird. Spruce is a rich and complex tonewood that will sound even better as it ages. The more you play, the better it sounds! The select Mahogany neck has 24.75" scale and a classic SlimTaper D profile and is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint. The pau ferro fingerboard has pearloid parallelogram inlays, 20 medium frets, a 12" radius, and a 1.69" nut. There is white binding on the fingerboard and 5-ply white & black binding on the body read more top. The classic sloped dovewing headstock has Epiphone "Deluxe" 18:1 machine heads and the iconic "Epiphone" logo in white. The Hummingbird Performer PRO Acoustic/Electric's reverse belly bridge has a compensated saddle for smooth action and intonation. And the pickguard has the same vintage "Hummingbird" design as the first generation of Hummingbird acoustics from the early 60s. read less

I ordered this guitar. It has a beautiful sound. The notes really ring out. As soon as I got it I did swap the strings out for a set of Daddario nickel wound strings because I’ve found that I like them best. But as far as the guitar I love everything about it. It’s even beautiful to look at. I would definitely recommend this guitar.
