"High quality instrument"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have purchased my (natural) epiphone cec coupe solid body electric nylon guitar here in NZ. I took it out on approval for a couple of days, getting to appreciate this instrument very quickly. Particularly the amount of tone that is available acoustically when practicing. The plugged-in sound is most pleasant, sounding very believable when recording played back. My supplier could not find a case the right size, so I am doing an adjustment on a bass case, which I hope will be successful

Sound
pick velocity affects the tone of this instrument. Tone controls are subtle, but useful. Good output.

Features
The build quality is rather better than i have experienced in the past from Epiphone-branded instruments. Neck join looks marvellous, the mahogany body/neck combination is a good quality look, along with the ebony fingerboard.

Ease of Use
This is a very approachable instrument. I have used the stereo output with a delay pedal. With slapjack and pan, sneering delays sound almost like a second guitar doing backup. I look forward to getting this under control. Without the panning, the mono out is very good, maybe a little more body than the stereo out... but I still like both.

Quality
The machine heads have a cast base (much better quality than average). The neck grain follows through as if the neck is one piece (at the nut). Nut is graphic (no need to change), read more bridge is nut (ditto), tuner is lovely.Interest point - I started changing the original strings (rather old, shop gave me a spare set) - the bridge has two holes for each string, which i think is to give a more stable, bound set for the strings.

Value
I purchased this on special, they even took off the sales tax for december 31 cut-off. I suspect the instrument is worth the original price, and is well made, with good components. Will keep looking for a case though

No problems yet

The Wow Factor
I am a long term GAS type. No regrets.

Musical Background:
Brass bands/country music/folk club/rock'nn roll bassist/Bass in swing combo

Musical Style:
