Tight Cardioid Pattern for High-Volume Clarity

In its capacity as a supercardioid dynamic microphone, the N/D967 excels at delivering clean, high-volume vocals in any kind of live sound reinforcement situation, be it a large concert hall or a small venue. A supercardioid pattern allows the mic to reject more sound at the sides and rear, and capture more at the front, for reduced feedback under a range of live performance conditions. You can get as close as you want to the N/D967 without having to worry about plosives, muddy lows, or instances of poor hygiene, as the mic offers a removable, washable grille screen, stainless-steel retainer, and pop filter.

In the Normal position, the microphone exhibits a smooth, slightly rising response, ideal for when the mic is used several inches from the sound source. If you're singing right on top of the mic, you'll find that the N/D967's proximity effect gives you a great deal of low-mids power from 200 Hz up through 500 Hz. When you're singing close to the mic, flip the Personality switch to Presence mode. This mode gently scoops low-mid frequencies, helping vocals cut through when the mic is very close to the sound source.

Ultra-low handling noise comes courtesy of the N/D967's AcoustiDYM shock-mount system, which effectively isolates the mic's transducer, keeping diaphragm motion from ruining a perfectly good performance. A Warm Grip handle keeps you comfortable while you sing.

An extraordinarily tight pickup pattern, specially tailored frequency response, the highest gain-before feedback and unrivaled low handling noise make this microphone the ultimate for vocal power and clarity. The N/D967 features an exclusive, low profile grille that puts the performer's voice as close as possible to the microphone element. Thus, the N/D967 picks up more of what the engineer wants - the singer's voice, and less of everything else, from cymbals, stage rumble and vibration, and especially monitors, all combining to minimize feedback while at the same time providing exceptional sound. And for those performances requiring more "cut", an exclusive "personality switch" is provided, giving the artist the confidence to use the full range of their talent in any venue. I'm going to buy a backup and the rest of my band is buying one... enough said.
Sound
Wow... This is the best dynamic vocal mic I have used in 30 years... period. I have used 57's 58's 835's and Audix Om2-3-5 and by far this is the clearest loudest before feedback mic I have bought. The only exception may be a Neumann dynamic I used at a festival one time, but after one try it's hard to say.
Features
Mic clip, bag, and adjustment on the curve, but that's all you need.
Ease of Use
Plug it in and be amazed.
Quality
It's still early but it seems solid.
Value
I got mine for 99.00 new at another retailer, but even at 199 it's a great mic.
Manufacturer Support
I've had other EV's and they weren't in the same league as this one.
The Wow Factor
It is what it is and that is a great vocal mic for under 200 bucks.
