Edirol SD-80 StudioCanvas Customer Review

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Sounds not bad for the $$$ but somewhat limited. Couldn't get good acoustic bass no matter how I tried.
Features
Dumbest thing Edirol did is to abandon GS instrument map. It is NOT compatible with SC-8850/20 series (de facto MIDI standard). So be prepared to re-map all your old MIDI files. All you will get trying to play GS files - "no instrument assigned" messages.
Ease of Use
Straight forward, no surprises.
Quality
OK.
Manufacturer Support
Non existent! It's Rolland/Edirol.
