The V3112 is an enhanced single-channel amp that operates in Class A configuration, and generates 30 watts RMS through a single 12 in. Celestion speaker. The Class A circuit essentially runs the Groove Tubes(TM) EL84's at full output at all times. Sound
Initially I was not impressed with the sound. I was playing fingerstyle guitar with a drummer and bass. But, once I switched to playing country with a six piece band I needed a sound that could cut through everything and have a distinct sound. After toying around with different settings, I found what I was looking for, a sound that had a unique cutting chickin pickin sound. I play with a steel guitar player that uses a 100 watt amp and a keyboard player that uses a 200 watt amp. They can't believe that I get the volume and tone out of a 30 watt amp. They listen with amazement and shake their head. I've tried other amps with more watts, but nothing beats my Crate 3112 in power or tone.
