About the GFX Series
Ten years ago, powerful small amps were what Crate was all about. To many people, they were known as the absolute best compact, solid-state, high gain, versatile, innovative, modern, powerful, rehearsal amps available anywhere. Well, guess what: they still are! Many of the major awards through the years have been for innovation and excellence with expensive products. You would expect companies to pour a ton of R & D into creating innovation in expensive models, but they actually still work as hard as ever to make sure that you get the toughest, most innovative, excellent sounding and affordable amps in every category. For example, our GX series with Flexwave and spring reverb continue to be recognized as clear leaders in the industry.
Their least… read more expensive amp, the GX15 was named as the Amplifier of the Year by MMR magazine in 1995! The patented "FlexWave"circuitry replicates the tone, response and feel of a hard-driven tube amp, using more efficient solid-state components. They have been evolving this circuit since 1980 and now include the "Evolution Five" FlexWave preamp design in every GX and GFX amp Crate makes. In 1993, they won the Amp of the Year award for the groundbreaking GT80DSP that was the first and only amp on the market to include Digital Signal Processing with an analog and tube driven preamp circuit design. That commitment continues today with the GFX models rocketing to the top of the industry as the price/performance standard in amps with digital effects. New for 2001, the GFX212T features Channel Tracking that allows you to assign a different digital effect to each channel. The GFX212T also features an additional 6 effects, for a total of 16.
In fact, the entire GX and GFX Series including the GFX50TT Two-Tone 2 player amp continue the reputation of Crate as one of the youngest, most powerful and innovative amp lines in the world. read less
