What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Seymour Duncan SH-6N Distortion neck pickup High-gain humbucker; known as the SH-7 Seymourizer
Seymour Duncan TB-6 Distortion bridge pickup High-output humbucker for aggressive players
12"-16" compound-radius fretboard Flatter feel moving up neck; increased playability
Strings-thru-body hardtail bridge Strings seated in body; more resonance and control

The Charvel So-Cal alder body is coupled with a pickguard, bolt-on maple neck featuring a pair of graphite-reinforcement rods to resist bending and warping under environmental stresses. The speed neck profile is designed for lightning fast playing and completely unhindered position shifts, while the comfortably rolled fingerboard edges provide the broken-in feel of an instrument with plenty of playing miles on it, and plenty more to go. Perfect for faster tempos, the 12"-16" compound radius fingerboard hosts 22 jumbo frets and dot inlays. For regularly touring musicians, a heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel is a must, allowing for quick and convenient neck relief tweaks.

Hot-rodded for unparalleled performance and sound, this instrument hosts a high-output Seymour Duncan Distortion TB-6 humbucking bridge pickup and a warm, fat Seymour Duncan Distortion SH-6N humbucking neck pickup.

The volume control hides a push/pull coil split for even more highly useful tonal variations, ideal for everything from a biting lead sound to thick, chunky rhythm work. The no-load tone control operates like a standard tone control from positions one through nine, removing itself from the circuit at position ten for transparent sound that lets the full natural voice of the guitar shine through. A Charvel HT6 string-through-body hardtail bridge is designed for improved intonation and enhanced sustain and resonance.

I wanted to get a hardtail guitar because I have a bunch of guitars eith Floyd Rose tremolo systems and I wanted a guitar that I could easily drop tune and change strings quickly without taking a lot of time and adjustments. What I like about the guitar I got was I got the Pharaoh Gold color and it looks great. It has standard locking Charvel branded tuners and they seem to work decent. Also having Gaphtec nut and a graphit reinenforced neck helps as well. I love the 12 to 16 compound radius for easy chording and fast playing for notes higher up on the neck. It has a nice smooth neck with a great ebony fretboard. The pickups(Duncan Distortion set) installed are a great hard rock to modern metal combo. With the coilsplit I'd dare to say you could do blue, country and jazz as well because of the diverse sound options. Also having a no load tone pot is great because I never personally use the tone control. This guitar is made in Mexico and I've personally never had any issues with Mexican made guitars though other people may have. The other two things I didn't care for were this guitar only has 22 frets. I'm used to 24 frets, but I can live with it since this guitar plays and sounds so good. This is the biggest issue I have especially since it's only 22 fret is the heel. It's a standard block shape which hinders access to the higher frets a little bit. I know their newer guitars have addressed this issue by adding better cutaways. All in all it's a nice addition to my other guitars read more and a welcome addition being a hardtail instead of a Floyd Rose. My other Floyd Rose guitars I have different tuning for each one so I have to grab a different one when learning new material. With a fixed bridge I have a bit more leeway for altering the tuning so I don't have to constantly change guitars.

Musical Background:
40 years of playing.

Musical Style:
I most play hard rock, metal, speed metal, thrash metal, some modern metsl, power metal, neoclassical shred and a little blues.
