The compact DJ18S-MK3 18" Active Subwoofer delivers an incredible frequency response and an amazing Output-To-Size Ratio in a lightweight and easy to transport formfactor.

For DJs and venues seeking extremely deep bass at moderately high levels, the DJ18S-MK3 are also a cost-effective solution that is suitable for the truly bass-insatiable whose focus is on modern music that features frequencies well below the usual 40-50Hz range. This super sub delivers output down to 27Hz (+-3dB). By comparison, most similarly sized subs are at least -10dB to at 30Hz, yielding an output advantage with the DJ18S-MK3 equivalent to a 2:1 ratio at the lowest notes.

The all MK3 series deliverers a suite of updates to the BASSBOSS line, improving clarity, performance, functionality, and safety via the amplifiers, DSP, custom control software, waterproof connectors, and more.

The updated amplifiers + DSP feature much more powerful 96 kHz processors with pristine sound quality and eight touch-of-a-button on board presets. This state-of-the-art Class D amplifier provides a true 2500 Watts of RMS power. The amplifier is truly capable of delivering continuous power, ensuring that it isn't the limiting factor on your quest for low frequency. Additionally, by providing an abundance of power, the possibility of overheating and damage to the woofers caused by clipping is virtually eliminated.

"Control BASSBOSS" software provides additional computer-accessible presets, networked remote control, and… read more future proofing remote DSP update capabilities as BASSBOSS programming is developed and released. Each unit features dual ethernet ports with a built-in network switch for computer connectivity and cascading networking ability.

IP65 waterproof connectors have been added to provide peace-of-mind in unpredictable environments, and the MK3 line offers 90-250VAC global power compatibility for use all over the world.

The cabinets are constructed from premium selected 18mm Baltic Birch plywood. The driver is protected by a black powder-coated, perforated steel grill. The woofer cones are waterproofed so the cabinets are safe to use outdoors where they may encounter rain or spilled drinks.

The long excursion high-efficiency 18-inch neodymium motor woofer features a copper-winding voice coil and is loaded into a vented enclosure that is tuned to optimize low frequency output using a very large port. The amp is loaded at the interior port end to utilize the air flow at high output for additional cooling. The cabinet was designed to minimize weight and maximize efficiency.

* True Specifications
BASSBOSS have stopped using "Peak" and "RMS" power ratings for their amplifiers because those numbers alone are not an accurate representation of the real-world performance you can expect from their powered loudspeaker systems.

Peak Watts: Essentially a theoretical maximum that the amplifiers could output for an instantaneous moment under ideal conditions with no load. However, this peak power is not sustainable and has little practical relevance for how the loudspeakers will actually perform.

RMS (root mean square) Watts: A measure of continuous power output, but even this figure doesn't account for the true efficiency of how that power is converted into acoustic output by the transducers and overall speaker design. The number of watts a loudspeaker "uses" is constantly fluctuating based on the impedance curve, frequency response, and heat generated in the voice coils. Simply looking at how many watts an amplifier can produce on a test bench doesn't translate to its real-world sound output capability.

What matters most is the complete integrated loudspeaker system and how efficiently it can convert the amplifier's power into acoustic output while maintaining flat frequency response and headroom. Two loudspeakers with the same wattage ratings could have vastly different real-world sound pressure levels and clarity.

For these reasons, BASSBOSS believes wattage ratings alone are not a reliable metric. Listening tests and measurements of the overall system's output capabilities like maximum SPL and distortion are far more telling than any peak or RMS wattage number viewed in isolation. The BASSBOSS goal is to provide outstanding performance through intelligent system design, not just big wattage numbers.
