I doubt if I will replace this unit for a long time. I've found something that I will use "live" for a while. My sound guy commented on how full I sounded playing sax through this thing after the first night I utilized it in my rig. He said he didn't have to EQ me or anything - just a good, full, rich sound.
Sound
For the price, you can't beat this sound. And 2 channels! I use mine for all manners of applications - live and in the studio, horns, acoustic guitars, and vocalists. Incredible piece of gear for the price.
Features
I like the varialbe patterns that you can switch between to get different sounds. I don't have much experience with upper end mic pres, but I like this unit so much, I'm probably going to buy another for my home studio and keep one for my live gigs. This is a great basic component with phantom power, gain switch, and I like the 'in and out' options on the front or the rear. Easy to access, especially at a live gig.
Quality
So far, very sturdy and dependable. Looks good, too.
Value
This product is definitely worth its selling price. I wouldn't have a problem suggesting this product to anyone - unless it were some world-renown record producer with ears like a rabbit (I'm simply not that experienced yet, though I was a music major in college and a grad of an audio engineering school.)
