So my apollo twin mk2 because I became more focused on getting a good sound out of it than actually writing anything. I decided, for the sake of my writing, that i'd get a no nonsense no frills usb microphone so I can focus on the only important thing. The music. This mic is smaller than you think. I'd say maybe an inch taller than a credit card and two thirds the width of one. It is plug and play (make sure you set your preferences to use this mic as your sound card) and easy to use when you follow the quick start manual. Mic is sturdy, with good weight. It doesn't feel like a hollow plastic mic as some in this category tend to be. The sound can only be described as "Solid". It is not hyped in anyway not is it overly bassy. Apogee did an awesome job with this capsule. The recording quality is clear and everything you need to make a great recording. This isn't just "Demo" good. I believe one can make a radio ready song with this mic (with the right knowledge). On acoustic guitar this mic is as accurate as it gets. Very clean and detailed sounding. On vocals it is the same. Not overly flattering but not lacking either. Just very accurate. Overall I give this mic 5 stars because it delivers on what it promises. I give 4 stars to its sound because it is accurate and solid but feel like 5 stars Is fitting if I felt the mic added something extra to the sound. If that's what you want then you may want to look elsewhere. I highly reccomend this bad boy to anyone looking read more to record with ease without sacrificing quality.
