"Anuenue Papa2 will see you through"
I will sstick with this ukulele. I would buy it again. The tuning stablity and intonation are too important to change.
Sound
I purchased the Lanakai CK koa laminate and sadly had to return it. It was beautiful looking and sounded sweet and harp like, but had no tunig stability or intonation consistency. Damn! I loved it, but opted for the Anuenue Papa 2. It is not ass sweet sounding, or as radiant, but it has what a musician needs, tuning stability on stage so your not tunig every half song, and the intonation is pristine and perfection. It looks good in an earthly kind of way (makes one feel like it's an indigenous instrument from the far away isles), cool! I love my Anuenue and it sounds damn good. A solid 8, where the Lanakai comes in as a solid 7.2
Features
I bought it at Guitar center and it comes with a gigbag. The workmanship is superior in every way. The materials are so so, laminated mahogany, but the job they did making it is extra special!
Ease of Use
It plays like a dream. The highs are a little not existant at times, but sound equipment and tweeking make that problem obsolete for any no nonsense professional looking for a dependable instrument. It is especially good for jazz stsyle instrumentals as weel as blues bends and other aggressive playing. It just stays right in tune. It makes a musician confident and hence enhances playing without worry.… read more
Quality
This uke is a lifer. The workmanship was meant to last a lifetime. However, any laminate stringed instrument may dissapoint where increased quiality over time is concerned, but it sounds sweet enough. Once again, the reliability is it's tuning stabilty and intonation. Thats everything folks! To the professional on stage thats everything! Onceagain, I don't care for laminates and think the rediculous price of solid wood is something I cannot tolerate. Cosmetically, it is what it is, earthy, interesting wood burnings of little stick people in poses that must mean something or other. It's handsome and cool, not pretty and sweet. I'm kind of rough myself so were a perfect match.
Value
This uke is absolutely worth the price. It's actually cheaper than inferior more expensive ukes.
Manufacturer Support
No dealings have transpired with Anuenue where support is concerned. I don't anticipate any issues with this truely great and highly recommended instrument. I love my Anuenue Papa 2.
The Wow Factor
The Papa 2 is a very practical addition to my acoustic act and I would not change it.
