Ampeg Venture V12 Bass Guitar Amplifier Head (1200 Watts)
Take your bass rig to the next level with the most powerful Venture amplifier! Ampeg's V12 bass amp features a class D amplifier and an Ampeg legacy preamp.
Overview
The Venture V12 is the largest and most powerful of the three heads in the Venture Series, yet it fits into a gig bag or the optional Venture carrying bag, making it an ideal head for the travelling bassist. The Venture V12 delivers 1200 watts via its Class D power section -- more than enough power to drive any of the Venture Series speaker cabinets or practically any other cab bassists may encounter on their travels.
Featuring easy-to-use and intuitive controls, the Venture V12 offers an extensive array of tone-shaping tools that include a legacy preamp, 3-band EQ with sweepable Mids, Ultra Hi and 3-way Ultra Lo switches, a Super Grit Technology (SGT) Overdrive circuit with SVT and B15 voicings, and a highly musical variable compressor. An effects loop with Mix control, an XLR direct output, an Aux input, and a Phones output enhance connectivity, as do the Neutrik speakON outputs. All circuitry is analog except for the solid-state Class D amplifier. Add an optional AFS2 footswitch for remote control of the SGT overdrive and other functions, and an optional heavy-duty padded Venture carrying bag to protect your Venture V12.
The Ampeg Venture Series amplifiers and cabinets deliver the modern style and features sought by contemporary bassists -- continuing a tradition of innovation that stretches back to the dawn of the electric bass.

Right out of the box I thought this is really light. I thought to myself this feels like a cheap toy.Plugged in, sounded good at first. An hour later rehearsal started and I turned up. Started getting loud squeals coming from my 810 cab. Crackling and squealing. It was awful, I thought I blew my speakers. Turned the ultra high switch and it stopped for a minute.Turned the grit knob barely and it started again. I'm not sure If I received the only bad head onthe shelf but I sent it back. No need to replace with a new one I don't trust it after that. Plugged back in my Ampeg PF500 and it sounds sooo much better than that V12.Thought I would give the new technology a try but it came up short. Cheaply made in China.I've used every Ampeg head and out of the box this one surprised me how bad it was. They also did away with the tuner out in the back. Don't know why?The best thing on it is the light goes from blue to red when you put it on mute. That's about it!
