Loaded with professional features throughout, the SVT8PRO was designed for the most demanding player and the most demanding of gigs.
An outstanding feature, unique to the SVT8PRO, is its speaker emulation circuitry, which allows players to dial in classic SVT overdriven tones at any volume level. This means you can get all the crunch and grind of an SVT pushed to the limit, but at a volume level that won't set off local seismic detectors.
Ampeg's 5-position Ultra Low selector gives you low frequency tone-sculpting capability like never before. From the fattest low-end to tight, highly articulated punch, the choice is yours. "Best of the tube pre-amps"

This is actually the SVT-VR preamp which has the better Midrange boost to give that overdriven growl that you get from the original Blue-line Series SVT head. They've added 2 more tone controls. I used to have the all-tube version, but it was just heavy to carry around, and the power stage would over-heat after a couple of hours. This caused saturation of the tubes and the output would go down. Then you couldn't even hear what note you were playing. I always wanted to replace it with solid-state power amps.
