zZounds Gear Experts Say...
64-voice expandable synthesizer module.

The QSR puts the excellent sounds and powerful synthesis engine from our advanced QS7 and QS8 keyboards into a single-space, rack-mount module. The QSR's gigantic collection of exciting sounds —16 megabytes of sound ROM — includes 640 programs and 500 multi-timbral mixes. This sonic library includes our acclaimed phase-accurate stereo grand piano program.

A selection of alternate acoustic and electric pianos, organs, cutting-edge and vintage/retro synth lead and pad sounds (including exclusive waveforms from Keith Emerson's personal synths and organs), strings, brass, winds, guitars, drums, percussion, rhythmic/sonic loops, and much more are all represented.

The QSR's 64-voice polyphony allows you to create complex sequences and rich, stacked chords and layers, and its 2 PCMCIA-format ports can be used simultaneously as a 16MB expansion, doubling the QSR's total sound ROM to a massive 32 megabytes. And since the QSR is Sound Bridge compatible, you can import your own samples and play back up to 100 Standard MIDI File sequences from a sound card.

Four-bus Alesis multi-effects on the QSR include reverb, chorus, distortion, delay, EQ, rotary speaker simulation, and more. Like the QS7 and QS8, the QSR comes with a Mac/Windows-compatible CDROM full of popular music creation software as well as a super-fast serial data port and an ADAT Optical Digital output.

The QSR is a single rack-space module version of the QS7 and QS8. It has all the sounds, features, and interfaces of the QS7 and QS8 with the exception of the keyboard and the master controller section.
