Affectionately known as "The Fridge," this massive bottom-end box of boom brings the heavy with eight 10" speakers in a Baltic birch plywood enclosure, dual 1/4" and secure Neutrik Speakon inputs/outputs, a tilt-back handle bar, and a protective skid rails for easy transport. This workhorse cab pushes out a maximum SPL of 130 dB and is built to take the abuse of the road, delivering on all expectations the Ampeg name elicits.

The Power of Eight 10" Speakers

There's a reason Ampeg decided to go with eight separate 10" speakers: sonic efficiency. Ampeg learned that 15" or 18" speakers don't dish out the same sonic effectiveness as 10" speakers do, and the eight 10" speakers in your SVT-810E respond to transient peaks more quickly than larger speakers. This cab has a maximum SPL of 130 dB, so you can really push the volume hard without worrying about your signal becoming distorted.

Your SVT-810E bass cab is virtually identical to the original SVT-810. The renowned Infinite Baffle design features a sealed enclosure which keeps your tone nice and tight, resulting a rigid and focused sound. Ampeg SVT-810E Cabinet

The world-renowned Classic Series Cabinets are synonymous with bass enclosures and the sound they are expected to produce. From the undeniable tone of the SVT-810E to the unexpected low end of the extended range SVT-410HLF, Ampeg enclosures have set the standard for decades. All enclosures feature dual Neutrik Speak-On and 1/4" input/output jacks. Cabinets using high frequency horns contain a variable level attenuator. To prevent overpowering and damaging the horns, a resistive bulb is wired in series with the horn for protection.

A Workhorse of a Different Color

The Ampeg SVT-810E is the speaker enclosure people mean when they say SVT speaker cabinet. It's all about tone. Other than the color scheme, it is identical to the original SVT-810.

Why eight 10" speakers? Ampeg learned early on that 10" speakers work much more efficiently than fifteens or eighteens -- and if you put eight 10" speakers together, you can move a huge column of air. You'd need five 18" or six 15" speakers to move as much air as the SVT-810E. And they simply wouldn't be able to respond to transient peaks as quickly as Ampeg's tens.

The Ampeg SVT-810E is still manufactured using the same design dating all the way back to 1969. The Infinite Baffle design of these sealed enclosures produces vast amounts of tightly focused bass. That's why you'll find the SVT-810E on stage with such artists as Chris Squire (Yes), Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), John McVie (Fleetwood Mac), and far too many others to list here. Can't say enough about this cabinet, especially being able to use it to biamp by having the two separate 4 x 10 enclosures "together" and able to receive their own separate signal, or utilizing the full 8 x 10 ground shaking fury that Ampeg is known for! Glad I finally came back to Ampeg after years of trying other cabs that just can't match it. I would like to give a quick shout out to zZounds also, for their continued superior customer service when it comes to communication about your order etc., so you know exactly when to expect it on your door step. With the SVT cab mentioned above, it is delivered via freight, so get your hand truck ready, and the carrier that was used to deliver it to me was even courteous enough to have the driver call me personally, to let me know when he was 1/2 hour away from my home so I could watch for him. Just overall a great experience again from zZounds, as fortunately, I am a "repeat offender", and have utilized buying gear for years through them, without any issues at all.
