Sound: Theres some good, hiphop basses, accoustic basses, and synth basses. They all sound good. The sound can be expressive if you know how to play bass. The sound can fit any musical style. For me personally its kinda difficult making this synth work with the type of music I do. Feature: I actually dont like the GUI for any of the spectronics synths. Thats just my opinion. Quality: Excellent.. I dislike how the presets are all at least 35MB or better. If your on a slow comp, it takes a couple of seconds to switch from preset to preset.. this sux... Value: Its pretty good. Its expensive because it is aimed at a particular usage: bass. It does it pretty well. I say get a computer with a fast processor and you will be set. Manufacturer Support: Never called. But they have a user group on yahoo. The creator chimes in and answers questions... The Wow Factor: Like i said above...The GUI sux. But hidden inside are sounds that can trample basses in some of the best sound modules (motif, korg, u name it...) Overall: Once i upgrade to a fast computer, and really learn how to program this thing, I should be able be more expressive with it. I would love to see a GUI revamp on all Spectronics softsynths... Other than that, this thing is a beast...

Sound: I really love this virtual bass module. the best of the lot imo, and i have no idea what the reviewer below is talkin about. Trilogi has the best collection of basses in any software available, try the SE1 Synth bass - perfect hip hop / r&b bass. Many ways to change preset patches, take a plain sine and combine with a growly sawtooth sound and you get instant grit and phatness. I have built hundreds of my own basses from dark taurus basses to smooth sub bass tones, too many options. it shipped a single dvd disc with the latest version for osx, and took all of 5 mins to install on my G5. Feature: Just like the other Spectra synths, the GUI is amazingly simple and very inviting to use. the dual layering is brilliant, and the filter types are perfect tone shapers. the adsr is great for blending basses from the two layers. the a/b tune is handy for creating different bass tones. syncable lfos is superb imo. Ease of Use: Very easy! Quality: Best 3GB's ever, acoustic and synth basses are just mind blowing, and very realistic sounding. the synth basses are very warm and creamy, so deep that they shake my paintings off the wall. The best set of basses, and sit very well in my mixes. the filters really help to craft the each sound to sit and just fit in to the mix. Value: for the price of a rip off sample cd, this has to be pure value ofr money. Its a real instrument with the best GUI and first rate sound library. Manufacturer Support: always email back, never a let down. the installation is very fast and hassle free.

Sound: Generally dissapointed with the sound on this thing. I wanted to do Hip Hop which needs fat bass, but this instrument does not cut it at all. For example load up the patch "Dre Bass" on Trilogy and all you get is a low volume, thin high pitched Bee buzzing sound. What a joke, Dre would neva have got where he is with wack sounds like this. Try to tweak, boost and digital clipping comes quick. The electric/ acoustic basses are a bit better, but those annoying clicks and squeaks are a nightmare and getting a decent level of amplitude from this synth is not easy. Feature: The GUI is simple, since this thing is sample based. Not highly tweakable, but has Filters/ envelopes onboard. Good for learning the ropes of programming, but you can't mould the sounds that much. Which is a pity since the waveforms are very average. Ease of Use: Installation was a complete nightmare on my old PC, but a breeze on my new one. Quality: Very so-so. Better than freeware synths, but I wouldn't buy it again. Value: I'd rather have one good phat bass sound than hundreds of mediocre ones, which is basically what Trilogy offers. I have yet to find a VST with a good low end, and this is no exception. Manufacturer Support: They tried to help out when I couldn't install it. The Wow Factor: Use this for your bass and forget about having a sex life. Overall: One word - wack.
