Feature:
i love the features, especially the dual reverb, because i always use a little more reverb clean than distorted. my only gripe is no separate EQ sections, but this is no big deal as i use an eq pedal if i want a mid boost, or as to do it the other way round, a mid cut. other than that, 4 channels is great, and its so easy to use, just plug in and nearly instantly have the tone you want.
Quality:
i cant rate here as ive had mixed reviews on marshall quality. this one thankfully has lasted 2 years no problems. its heavy as, and is solid. i always run my marshall away from the wall with a fan behind it just in case a tube or two combust!
Value:
you get what you pay for. you want a marshall you know you will have to fork out. think of it as a major investment, not an expense. you wont want to sell it, unless you like muddy rectifiers or overprocessed peaveys with no open valve roar
Desirability:
its a marshall. everyones heard of marshall, even the girls who crowd around it. it has appeal, but i dont wish to make love to it, that would be kinda messy and disturbing. it does look nice, the black on gold never gets old, EVER!
Sound:
it sounds bloody great. the first time i played it in the shop i used a jeff hanneman esp, and i sware with emgs and the gain cranked on this thing, it seriously blows a recto away. its tight, focussed, and just seems to bite back harder the harder you hit it. responsiveness, that is what this amp is all about. i also used a tokai love rock and managed to get a beautiful singing crunch out of the crunch setting on classic gain. a real valve tone, that even an army of distortion pedals cant begin to mimick, let alone represent. great clean as well, not as weak and distorted as past marshalls ive used. it goes from death chunk metallica 80's stuff to hendrixian biting, back to 60's cream rock. great stuff
Support:
never even spoken to marshall, and went back to nz rockshops to say how much i love it and how it was worth a mighty.
good stuff
Overall:
love it, its amazing, versatile, ballsy, mine is reliable, and best of all its made in britain, and maybe even jim marshall himself walked past it while it was being made
