Why 10?It's CRASHED TOY!Dimension and P-SynthII VST Synth's(new bank presets avaiable on cakewalk website),drum machine(Volocity)it's all you need but there is lots of efects,arpegiator presets,MIDI efects,Cyclone and many many more.I just easylly made Famous Vangelis sound by mixing two sounds from Dimension(Brass from Hell)and P-SynthII(C003 - PAD The Jovian)adding Metalurgy Effect and some reverb.VST Adaptor scanner with option.It beat down any other Soft workstation in this price range for good.Only Dimension and P-Synth are wort some 150$.

Quality:
Sometime it hang and stability is 8 like my opinion here.

Value:
I try several workstation VST hosts

Desirability:
The best looking workstation can be find enywere.No skins option but it's not so important here.

Sound:
While working it may look like generate some noise in background but it's only hardware effect and after wave track export shows perfect quality.

Ease of Use:
10 becose only this workstation is the most easy to use.You can locate everythink on one screen display!Effects,track,VST's,all and rest on one display.Every icon is ajustable however you like to and you can set all staff wherever you like to.EASY!For exsample Sonar-7,Reason -7,Alberton -6,Cubase-4,and so on down...Ther is just nothing to ask for or look for.I like clear and logical display construction.

Any problems I had just disapeared on cakewalk support webpage.

Overall:
Low price,possibility,instruments and effects,sound quality,easy of use,nice look and more with only one minus->stability!Save project offen .Even with this minus it's shows the best choise in softsynth in this price range for sure.

Feature:
I like some of the features like the soft synths that came with the pakage like the PSYN, and the DS-864.

Quality:
Great sound quality, easy to control, doesnt use uo to much CPU, and even if you put in a trillion instruments your song will not skip.

Value:
Better value than most soft seqs, like reason, and if you are a true artist you can come up with very smooths compositions.

Desirability:
I like the packaging, looks great.

Sound:
I think the sound quility is superb, the effects arnt really good but I love the way it runs VST, DXI synths and effects.

Support:
Great support cakewalk has a site dedicated to P5 users.

Overall:
Amazing.

unless you want to record audio or send midi out. But then this was designed to be self contained like reason anyway.

Quality:
Occasional glitch here and there, but seems standard for version 1 release. Still, not as stable as reason.

Value:
not the cheapest thing in the world. I would buy fruityloops if this was my main concern.

Desirability:
Cant wait to buy it.

Overall:
This is EVERYTHING i have been waiting for. I would have bought reason but i wanted vst or dxi support, and I found Fruity loops, incredible value aside, counter intuitive to making music. This thing let me just get down to it and make music and provides unlimited options for sounds thanks to plugins. I love it. I think this raises the bar for software studios.

Feature:
plenty of effects, though some of them don't seem as useful. the tracer doesn't so much thin sounds as advertised, but rather puts a wobbly effect on the sound. audio effects like delay and the LFO can be timed to the project, which is nice.

Quality:
every once in a while i discover something wierd. for example, the cyclone synth (which totally rocks). triggers a new instance of a loop from clicking a pad with the mouse and using a midi controller, so a loop started with the controller can't be stopped with the mouse and vice versa.

Value:
it's a little pricey, but i'd say it's worthwhile.

Sound:
the synths and samples are all top notch. psyn produces a wide range of great sounds. cyclone does all kinds great slicing with ACIDized loops or just sounds.
