Yamaha STAGEPAS 500 Portable PA System

No longer available at zZounds
The STAGEPAS 500 portable PA system includes two 10" speakers, a detachable 10 channel mixer, and all required cabling.

And now you have a choice of two ways to get there! Yamaha's STAGEPAS 300 has already become the portable PA system of choice for legions of musicians on the move, and now the StagePas 500 is available for situations in which a little extra power and channel capacity is needed.

The basics remain the same: an incredibly lightweight, portable, easy-to-use PA system consisting of a pair of high-performance speakers with a built-in powered mixer. You can be set up and playing in a matter of minutes, and then packed away and on the road again with the same ease and speed when you're done. And all of this is provided with no compromise in sound quality or versatility, plus some advanced features you normally wouldn't expect to find in systems in this class.

Getting great sound for live performance used to be a big deal. Now all you need is a STAGEPAS 300 or STAGEPAS 500! Whichever system you choose, you have a high-performance live-sound system that will deliver your music or message wherever you go, indoors or out.

Complete with Speakers, Powered Mixer, and Cables

All-in-one STAGEPAS systems come with a pair of top-quality passive 2-way speakers, a versatile powered mixer, and even a pair of speaker cables.

High-Performance Speakers

The STAGEPAS 500 speakers have 10 in. woofers and 1 in. high-frequency units. Both types deliver clean, high-quality sound.

Detachable Mixer

The 10-channel 250W + 250W StagePas 500 mixer STAGEPAS 500 can be used either while installed read more in the speaker compartment or detached for easy positioning and access.

Two-Band EQ and Reverb

Built-in equalization and reverb add the finishing touches to your sound.

Convenient Accessory Compartment

STAGEPAS 500 conveniently store cables, microphones, and other small necessities in the speaker accessory compartment for a truly streamlined traveling system.

Optional Microphone Stand Adaptor

The STAGEPAS mixer can be mounted on a microphone stand using the optional BMS-10A adaptor for convenient positioning at any height.

10 Channels and 250W + 250W Power for More Sources and Larger Venues

Dual 250-Watt Amps

Two 250-watt power amplifiers can fill surprisingly large clubs or rooms, or project your sound over a considerable distance outdoors. The class-D power amplifier has been painstakingly designed to deliver superior sound quality as well as reliability in a remarkably compact unit.

Versatile 10-channel Mixer

If there are more members in your band than the STAGEPAS 300s 8 input channels can handle, or you simply have a lot of sources to mix, the STAGEPAS 500 gives you 10 input channels in all: four mono microphone/line inputs and three stereo line inputs. The additional stereo channel can used for either a stereo or mono source. In addition to the main speaker outputs the mixer has line outputs that can be used to connect additional powered speakers for monitoring, and to send the mixer's output to a recording device.

Phantom Power

The STAGEPAS 500 mixer features switchable phantom power for the four microphone/line inputs. This lets you use high-performance phantom-powered condenser microphones in situations where you want the extended, natural response they provide.

Built-in Compression/Limiting

Channels 1 and 2 feature LIMIT/COMP switches that let you apply either limiting or compression to those channels. Limiting can be useful to prevent input overload and distortion with sources that have a wide dynamic range, while compression can add punch to vocals, bass, guitar, and other sources while smoothing out the sound and helping it to ride better in the mix.

2-band EQ and Reverb

Like the STAGEPAS 300 mixer, the STAGEPAS 500 mixer has 2-band EQ controls on each channel, as well as Reverb switches on channels 1 through 4. A separate Reverb
level control adjusts the reverb mix.

Other Features

- XLR and phone-jack inputs on mono channels, and phone-jack and RCA pin- jack inputs on stereo channels allow connection to a wide range of sources.
- MIC/LINE switches select microphone or line level input matching for channels 1 through 4.
- Auto Limiter prevents overload damage to power amplifier and speakers.
- LED output level meter.
- Speaker cables supplied.

NOTE: STAGEPAS 500 speakers can't be stand mounted without standard speaker stand adapters such as the Ultimate Support BMB200K stand adapter, you can mount the mixer to most stands with an optional BMS-10A adapter.

For Singers: The built-in high-quality reverb is indispensable for great vocal sound, and on the STAGEPAS 500 system the LIMIT/COMP switch can help to deliver smooth, punchy vocal sound.

For Instrumentalists: The STAGEPAS mixer has more than enough input capability to directly handle a range of instruments from electric-acoustic guitars to electronic keyboards.

For Speech: Speech mode optimizes the system settings for maximum clarity with speech. Of course, background music from a CD player or other source can be mixed in with the spoken performance.

For Bands: Multiple microphone inputs make the STAGEPAS systems a good choice for band rehearsals or performances. MSR100 powered monitors (sold separately) can be added for monitoring.

"Yamaha has done it again!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If this were to get damaged, lost, stolen I'd have another one the next day.
Sound
Clear and crisp...I use a tube mic preamp, Aphex Aural Exicter and a digital reverb unit to really expand the unit. Small to medium venues--this is THE ANSWER. The low end is tight, with good boom; not earthshaking. Audiences comment on the clarity of our sound.
Features
I got the mic stand adaptor, speaker stands and roller bags ( you'll need one for each speaker) for east of transport.
Ease of Use
My teens have used it for their parties. Nothing complicated.
Quality
Truly gig worthy and consistent night after night.
Value
I can't believe what I got for under a grand!

The Wow Factor
Really cool...roll 'em in, put the speakers/mixer on stands and plug n play. It doesn't get any better.
