Add depth to your keyboard performance with the Yamaha FC3. This sensitive pedal is capable of variable sustain and half-damping for more expressive control.

In addition to continuous, natural-sounding sustain, the weighted Yamaha FC3 piano-style sustain pedal offers the solid construction, sensitivity, and feel of an acoustic piano's built-in pedals. The FC3 pedal even allows for multiple types of sustain to accommodate a range of playing styles. Whether you perform onstage or at home, you'll be able to play your keyboard with both the sound and feel of a real piano.

The FC3 is a half-damper pedal that works with all Yamaha keyboards that support half-damper positions. Its construction is basic, solid, and appropriate for nearly any setup. It comes with a 6-foot cable with a 1/4-inch plug.

Sounds Smooth, Feels Real

Unless you're playing "Chopsticks," you want your piano playing to sound smooth and connected, not jarred and jumpy. Tapping on a sustain pedal in between notes and phrases makes a world of a difference in your sound, and tapping on a good sustain can make just as much of a difference in the way you perform. Yamaha's FC3 pedal isn't glamorous but it does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. Not only does the FC3 offer realistic sustain, it provides a unique continuous zone for performing with different types of sustain. If your keyboard supports half-damping, this pedal will give you that extra edge of expression you can't get with an on/off footswitch!

No Distractions for the Stage

Weighing in at about two pounds, the FC3 is hefty enough to stay put during a show, so you won't have to chase the read more pedal around the floor with your foot and pull it back in place. It has a weighted base that makes it stay wherever you set it. Even better, this sustain pedal won't make the annoying clicks and creaks typical of plastic, spring-loaded pedals. Depressing the pedal provides only the sustain effect, which is what you want when you play, rather than a constant audible reminder that you're hitting a pedal.

Features:

- Piano-style sustain pedal
- Half-damper pedal works with all Yamaha keyboards supporting half-damper positions
- Weighted base keeps the pedal in place wherever you set it

Your keyboard may sound like an acoustic piano, but does it play like one? It will if you outfit your setup with the Yamaha FC3 sustain pedal, because just as important as the feel of the keys under your fingers is the feel of the pedal beneath your foot.

I play keyboards weekly (very weakly--bada-bam!) at our church and finally wore out the sustain pedal for my Alesis 8 piano. While I can't exactly get excited over a sustain pedal and give it 5 stars for the features listed below, I can say that the Yamaha FC3 pedal that I bought at Zzounds works very well. I don't think there's anything that Yamaha doesn't make well, and Zzounds is my favorite online music store, where I've bought several big-ticket and small items over the past ten years.

Musical Background:

I play most instruments, especially guitar, bass, piano, organ, drums, and harmonica

Musical Style:

rock, jazz, brasilian jazz
