Tama Soundworks Steel Shell Snare Drum

Unlike similarly priced drums in this range, which can sound generic and lack a distinct personality, each Soundworks snare has a distinct sound profile suitable for specific genres. Evans heads, now standard, add a pro touch to the affordably priced line.

The Soundworks Steel 6.5 x 14" model features a slightly thicker beaded steel shell (1.2mm) to penetrate through guitars and other instruments. The beaded steel shell is 1.2mm while its counterpart Mighty Hoop measures 2.3mm of solid steel. Tama's 2.3mm triple flanged steel hoops produce an open tone and plenty of attack and volume.

Steel shells are coveted by both subtle drummers and heavy hitters: The combination of brightness and pronounced crack for cutting rim shots makes it a universal option, and a standard sound used by drummers in almost every style.

The Soundworks Steel snare is rounded out with durable carbon steel Snappy Snares and tenMSL60S lugs. Silky-smooth tension rods make subtle tuning changes a breeze, letting you dial in just the right amount of tension for perfect tone every time.
