Takamine LTD 2017 Magome Acoustic-Electric Guitar (with Case)

The Takamine LTD 2017 Magome Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a testament to the artful craftsmanship of Japan -- the very same region in which Takamine guitars are lovingly crafted to this day. A special limited-edition guitar, Magome is an OM-sized acoustic-electric guitar with a solid spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides. It features a mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard that's inlaid with an intricate abalone "Legend of the Road" motif. The guitar features Takamine's renowned Palathetic pickup with a CTP-3 CoolTube preamp, a bone nut and saddle, abalone purfling and rosette, and gold hardware. It's available in a gloss midnight blue finish with cream binding, and includes a commemorative Certificate of Authenticity.

Over 400 years ago, during Japan's Edo period that was renowned for arts and culture, there was a highway called Nakasendo that stretched from Edo (now Tokyo) to Kyoto. Over 300 miles long, the road hosted travelers on the long journey between these two great cities. As it stretched through the Kiso valley in Gifu, travelers could stop at Magome to rest their horses, feast on soba noodles made with buckwheat that was ground fresh in the water mills that lined the road, and sleep in the many inns that Magome offered. Today in the city of Nakatsugawa, Gifu, this section of the road has been lovingly preserved as an attraction and as a reminder of the fine craftsmanship in this region of Japan.
