"Terrific value, great neck"

Feature:
Powerful pre-amp has volume and built-in 3-band equalizer, usually kept flat or skewed sl. to bass. Tuner is excellent, with low-batt. warning light. Discovered a slight rattle in acoustic sound with some frequencies and finally realized was slight shake of battery in compartment - cured with single wrap of elect. tape around battery. Good battery life (keep jack cord disconnected if not in use).

Quality:
Finish and fit are perfect, and kept perfect with no belt-buckle contact and clean hands. I installed a strap button onto the heel of the neck, and feels well-balanced on strap. Other button contains the cord jack. Intonation at bridge (compensating saddles) is very good. Tuners adequate, I generally change tuning slightly for playing in diff. keys (to lower the third etc.)and no problem except occ. sl. stick at the nut.

Value:
Absolutely one of the best values in an acoustic-electric.

Desirability:
Gloss black with white bindings, cannot get sexier than this.

Sound:
This has a slightly bright and brassy sound, esp. with fresh strings, so very good for flat-picking, esp. country, and rock, though I usually play mine finger-style with large variety of styles. When plugged in, equalizer settings will enhance or inhibit higher tones as req'd. I play mine thru a 50w. Marshall acoustic amp. with very true, uncolored sound. Quality of sound and overtone richness and balance is much higher than the price suggests. Good volume of sound, and does not feedback easily unless very close to speakers. I play with it in home recording studio, live venues outdoor and indoor and always sounds great.

Ease of Use:
This is one of the best necks I have ever seen or played on an acoustic guitar. Because I was mainly used to very low action on electric guitars, I was looking for an acoustic with low action possibilities and I found it here. It plays like an electric even on the high frets, just a slightly wider neck. The only problem with mine is that with some atmospheric conditions (dryness esp. - was bought in Florida, played in Ontario summers and Arizona winters) I cannot adjust the neck any further to prevent some buzzing and needed to slightly shim the bridge up (opposite of usual acoustic problem). I play with d'Addario EJ16s (light), which are stock with the model. Size of the body is a little large for my daughters or to see the fretboard if standing - typical of dreadnoughts.

Support:
No experience with support.

Overall:
I might trade up to a more expensive Takamine if start to play more live, though don't really know why -- perhaps to discover what more Takamine can offer. This model is made in China, but excellent quality typical of company.
