Sound: This mic is very clear when used correctly. It cuts through music so the singer can be heard clearly. Gain before feedback is also very good. This mic sounds good for all voice applications. I am using a makie board and JBL speakers and the new crown amps. It important to watch the trim if someone is screaming into any mic. This one stays clear in most applications. Feature: Some other companies include a cable with their mics. Was surprised that it was an extra exspence. Quality: Have had only one fail. It was dropped on a cement floor. I went and bought another one. Fit and finish are very good. Manufacturer Support: Have really had no reason to contact the company. Both this mic and the Shure wireless have worked flawlessly! The Wow Factor: What appeals to me is the fact that it works very well. It is also very durable. Overall: Of late there are quite a lot of new technology on the market in the microphone field. I really don't like switches all over my mics. All you need is for someone to change something on the mic to turn a live proformace into a nightmare. I will stick with this mic.

"Consider the bigger brother, The Beta 58"

Sound: Great mic for the price. Shure has always made great quality mics. Just remember that Sm series microphones are Shure's middle grade series. Shure's Beta series mic's are the best! So if you think this mic sounds great, you haven't heard the bigger brother,"the Beta 58" and not much higher than the Sm-58. Trust me on this one! I own them both... The Beta 58 has all that the Sm58 has and more. I also own the Beta 87a condencer witch I think sounds the best for live performance and Studio recording. So if your looking into buying a Shure mic and desire nothing less than the best,the Beta series is the way to go! Keep in mind that any microphone is only as good as the cable conneted to it. A high qulity mic connected to a cheap $5 cable defeats the purpose.
