Rugged. Unidirectional. Frequency response of 50 to 15,000 Hz.
Overview
The Shure SM12ACN offers the same features and performance as the SM10A, but with one in-the-ear monitor. It is a favorite of singing drummers and keyboardists who need freedom of movement on stage. A close-talking dynamic microphone element on an adjustable boom provides excellent isolation and minimizes feedback problems.
The Shure SM10A and SM12ACN microphones are low-impedance, unidirectional dynamic microphones designed for close-talk head-worn applications such as remote-site sports broadcasting and corporate intercom systems. They are also ideal for singing drummers, keyboard artists, and other performers who need a head-worn vocal microphone with superior noise rejection and a smooth, natural-sounding frequency response.
The SM12ACN is very lightweight and is typically mounted on the supplied steel headband assembly. An adjustable pivot on the headband assembly allows the microphone boom to be moved 20 degrees in any direction. The boom also slides out so the microphone can be positioned up to 89mm (3-1/2 in.) from the pivot housing. A supplied windscreen reduces wind noise and explosive breath sounds. A belt clip that fits over the XLR connector and attaches to the user's belt or waistband provides cable strain relief.

"This was a great product that Shure should have continued making. I miss my old one. It is easy to set up, great to use and hold"

See above. If I could find another one, I should be set for 15 years. If I could replace my old one, I would.
Sound
Almost identical to the classic SM58 if set up properly.
Features
A great mic and easy to set up and use. The earphone means your monitor is always with you and eliminates the need for other monitoring, saving both space and set-up time.
Ease of Use
Set up is just like a SM58 with more lows.
Quality
I used my last one for about 15 years.
Value
My old one soldiered on for over 15 years of hard, live music use.
Manufacturer Support
Shure has discontinued this mic which was a big disappointment. When I tried to have mine worked on, they wound up replacing it with a SM10, which has no monitor feed. Too bad.
The Wow Factor
I miss the ease of set up and the monitor earplug. I'd buy one again if I could find a new one.
Musical Background:
I have sung all my life and have played drums for over 50 years.
